We are not concerned with where you’ve been, but…
Where are you going to?
Jesus or as many would have known Him, Yeshua, was a Jewish man from Nazareth who lived about 2000 years ago. The earliest records that we have of Him are found in the Bible’s New Testament’s first four books, known as the Gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John). These were stories from eyewitnesses who retold all the stories of Jesus and were later written down.
When He was older, He proclaimed that the blessing given to Abraham was being fulfilled before their eyes, that the whole world will be blessed through Abraham1. Jesus was foretold in the first book of the Bible, Genesis, that there will be one born from the woman that will come and crush the head of the serpent 2.
1. John 8:56, Genesis 12:2-3. 2. Genesis 3:15
He came and proclaimed the Kingdom of God to the people3, but many opposed Him4, and He challenged them because they were corrupt5. This however brought His death, humiliating on a cross and what seemed as if the serpent might have won, it was all part of God’s plan.
3. Mark 1:15, Mark 4:30, Matthew 7:21. 4. John 8:6, Mark 3:2, Matthew 9:11. 5. John 8:7, Mark 3:4, Matthew 9:12-14
Three days later they found Jesus’ tomb open with the body gone6 only to later appear to them and teach that He is King and that all things belong to Him7. His death took away the sin of this world and His resurrection crushed the serpent’s head. Now anyone can join this everlasting Kingdom if you accept Jesus as your Lord and Saviour and live according to His precepts8.
6. John 20:1-10 7. Matthew 28:16-20, Luke 24:44-49. 8. Romans 10:9-10, Matthew 7:21
Jesus then went up into the clouds promising the Holy Spirit for His believers to enable them to spread the gospel of the Kingdom of God9. When the promise came, His disciples spread the good news from Jerusalem to the ends of the world10. Even to this day, all believers in Jesus have this promise of the Holy Spirit, we are only to ask11.
9. Acts 1:9, John 14:15-17, Mark16:15. 10. Acts 6:7, Acts 13:49, Acts 19:20 11. Luke 11:13
If you have never submitted your life to Jesus and made Him Lord and saviour of your life, please pray this prayer sincerely and come into contact with us that we may help you on this life-changing journey.
“Father, please forgive me, I repent from my sinful life and desire to walk in Your ways. I believe in my heart and confess with my mouth that Jesus Christ is Lord and that He died for my sins. I invite you, Jesus, to become the Lord of my life from this day forward and I ask that you give me the Holy Spirit to lead and guide me. I pray this in the name of Jesus, Amen.”
God Bless!
